The Ant and the Grasshopper

This week has been a great week where I delivered two Mental Resilience Masterclasses – one to a firm of solicitors and one to the staff of a school for Inset Day training. The reason it has been a great week is that both these sessions were probably the best I have experienced to date.

I know that we should be continually improving but this seems to be taking things to a different level. You will know about my passion for visualisation and the inner voice and I visualised a good outcome to these and maintained a positive inner voice both before and during the sessions. The content has been fine-tuned over the years and this is now a powerful, mind changing Masterclass.

The Masterclass is getting results

The full day Masterclass for the firm of solicitors in Yorkshire had real energy and enthusiasm with great interaction, and participation. The feedback from the forms I gave out at the end was outstanding. I am very excited about the potential for working with many more solicitor firms in the near future. It was such fun to work with this group.

The Masterclass for the school in Nottinghamshire on their Inset day was a joy to present. The staff were engaged, interactive and had a lot of fun as well as learning some great techniques to help them with stress and to develop better Mental Resilience. The feedback from the forms was amazing. They are also recommending me to their family of schools.

Dubai is getting closer

Things are developing on the Dubai front and I should be in a position to announce something soon. I now have a 10 year USA visa and I am targeting the States for potential work. This is the next area for development and I believe that my British accent, my age (now 63) and my basketball background will go down really well over there.

The Ant and the Grasshopper

Ants are small but smart. They store up food all summer. In the summertime, the ant is busy working, gathering food while the grasshopper plays. Then winter sets in and the ant retires to his home and enjoys life. He paid the price, now he can enjoy his reward. But now it’s time for the grasshopper that played on the front end, to pay on the back end.

As a result, he starves in the cold because he didn’t understand that the only adequate preparation for tomorrow is the wise use of today. Think about it; when you were at school did you ever prepare for an exam so well that you knew as you walked in that you would pass that exam? Well you can bring that same confidence to everyday life.

We can lead our lives, not accept them

Sadly, most of us don’t lead our lives we accept them! But life’s not a dress rehearsal. You don’t get a second chance! Benjamin Disraeli said: ‘The secret of success is to be ready when the opportunity comes.’ Nothing great is created suddenly; success doesn’t occur overnight. Neither does failure. Each is a process.

The fact is every day of your life is preparation for the next. The question is what are you preparing for and how are you preparing? Are you grooming yourself for success of failure? Only if you’re willing to work hard on the front end, will you reap the rewards on the back end. I used to think that my skills alone would take me to the top but I was sadly mistaken – hard work is the key.

Thoughts for the week

1. What is your attitude to hard work? Do you accept it as a key to success?
2. Most of my life I didn’t work hard and had limited success; the past three year I have worked hard and things have really taken off – it’s not a coincidence.
3. All high achievers put in a lot of hard work – even when it really hurts.
4. Are you prepared to pay the price for success?

I’ve sold a good number of books this week. People are buying them because the book is written like a handbook with 18 chapters each with at different topic to develop world class mental resilience. If you put the code 10POUND when prompted on my website, you will receive a personally signed copy of my book for £10 including postage and packing.

Have a great weekend and stay positive.

Warm regards
