HOW GRATITUDE CAN HELP YOU DEVELOP WORLD CLASS MENTAL RESILIENCE
"THE QUALITY OF BEING THANKFUL AND A READINESS TO SHOW APPRECIATION FOR AND TO RETURN KINDNESS"
Everyone has had times when they’ve felt thankful and shown gratitude for a person, situation, or material thing in their life. These moments of thinking positively and being grateful, give us a GOOD FEELING.
Gratitude or appreciation for the good things that happen to us, the good people we have around us or the things we have in our lives is an essential part of building happiness.
WHY IS GRATITUDE SO EFFECTIVE IN MENTAL RESILIENCE?
Gratitude matters. A grateful heart is a contented heart. Gratitude opens the door to simplicity and happiness.
A person who is grateful for the things they own will care for them, enjoy them, and waste less energy seeking more. They will experience contentment in the gifts they already possess rather than looking outside themselves for more.
Gratitude is more than just feeling good. It helps people become less aggressive by enhancing their empathy. Gratitude puts situations into perspective. When we can see the good as well as the bad, it becomes more difficult to complain and stay stuck.
This is a wonderful day. I’ve never seen this one before

- LESS FATIGUE
- MORE SELF-EFFICACY
- LESS INFLAMMATION

- People who regularly practise gratitude experience more positive emotions and feel more alive.
- Grateful people experience more contentment.
- LESS FATIGUE
- They often sleep better.
- They express more compassion and kindness.
- They have enhanced empathy and reduced aggression.

- They experience the ‘emotion of friendship’.
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

START USING GRATITUDE TO BUILD FEELINGS OF
HAPPINESS AND POSITIVITY
Feeling grateful is a skill we can develop with practice.
To build positive momentum towards a more happy and fulfilling life, try these simple things:
Keep a daily journal of three things you are thankful for. This works well first thing in the morning, or just before you go to bed.
Make it a practice to tell a spouse, partner or friend something you appreciate about them every day.
Look in the mirror when you are brushing your teeth, and think about something you have done well recently or something you like about yourself.
Even using these 3 simple steps and sticking to them every day, will start to make you feel more positive and more thankful for what you already have in life.

Feel overwhelmed? feel stressed?
feel out of control of your thoughts and emotions?
If you ever feel like this, or you have family, colleagues or employees that feel like this, it’s no surprise. It’s more common than ever that you feel these emotions at times in your life.
According to a report by the CIPD stress continues to be one of the main causes of short- and long-term absence from work
Overall, nearly four-fifths (79%) of respondents report some stress-related absence in their organisation over the last year (9% don’t know), although this rises to 91% of organisations with more than 250 employees.
COVID-19 is among the main causes of stress at work…
Workloads remain by far the most common cause of stress at work, followed by management style, as in previous years. The COVID-19 pandemic has created additional causes of stress, which also feature among the top causes of stress at work. As in previous years, relationships, at and outside work, are also commonly blamed for stress, as are personal/health issues.
There are many ways in which we can take more control of our thoughts, feelings and emotions through Mental Resilience and controlling our Mindset.
