How Your Inner Voice Builds Confidence

This week, I had the pleasure of delivering Mental Resilience Masterclass 3 online to the Bauer Media Group staff.

Bauer Media Group is a large German company based in Hamburg. It operates worldwide and owns over 600 magazines, 400+ digital products, 50 radio and TV stations, and printing and marketing services. It employs around 11,000 people across 17 countries.

Sally Aitcheson MBE, the Managing Director of the brilliant charity Cash for Kids, recommended me to Bauer. Before Christmas, Sally invited me to present Masterclass 1 to her team, and the feedback was so positive that she passed my name on to Bauer.

Bauer runs a well-being program called Thrive to support mental health. They specifically asked for Masterclass 3 because they felt their staff would benefit most from topics like Confidence, Sleep, and Vision Boards.

I love delivering Masterclasses online—it’s a format I feel very comfortable with, and people often tell me my energy and enthusiasm come through well on screen. 360 staff members joined the session on the day, a brilliant attendance. The feedback was amazing, and reading all the kind comments in the chat really made my day. Thank you, Bauer Media staff—you were fantastic!

Connect with me.

Since the presentation, many of you have joined my blog, and I’d love to connect with you on LinkedIn. Just search for John Dabrowski on Linkedin to find me. The same goes for all my regular subscribers. I’d love to connect and share ideas.

The fantastic feedback I received reminded me how meaningful my work is. Knowing that I can help people and even change lives is incredibly rewarding. At 70, I feel so lucky to be able to inspire and motivate others worldwide. I don’t take it for granted, and I hope to keep doing this well into my 80s!

My life dramatically changed.

It is incredible how much my life has changed in the past 11 years. Back then, aged 59, I was in massive debt, owned a house with negative equity, was single after two failed marriages, and worked as a painter and decorator to get by while living with my mum.

Today, I’m debt-free, running a successful international business, and working with amazing clients like Bauer Media, Rolls-Royce, Siemens Energy, and NSG Pilkington.

Most importantly, I’m happily married to Jewels—a genuinely wonderful person who has shown me what love really means. After nine years together, our relationship keeps getting stronger. We share many things, including our Christian faith, which is important to us.

This journey has been life-changing, and I’m so grateful for where I am now. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Let’s keep growing and inspiring each other!

Reply to say hello

With this in mind, don’t forget that you can reply to this blog anytime to speak with me directly, and we can encourage each other.

Next week, I deliver my Productivity Masterclass to a client in Birmingham and my Mental Resilience Masterclass to a client in Brighton. Online is great, but face-to-face has something special, and I am really looking forward to both.

One technique closest to my heart is the confidence technique, which the Bauer staff found extremely helpful. This technique completely transformed my life from someone lacking self-belief and confidence to someone who can speak to thousands of people and enjoy it. The technique includes visualisation and changing the inner voice.

Your inner voice.

Your inner voice is essential for building and keeping confidence. It acts as your guide, shaping how you see yourself and handle challenges. A positive and supportive inner voice can make a big difference in your life.

One way it helps is through positive self-talk. Instead of focusing on doubts, remind yourself of your strengths. For example, saying “I can do this” or “I’ve succeeded before, so I can again” boosts your confidence and resilience, helping you face tasks with more assurance.

Your inner voice can also remind you of past successes. Thinking about times you’ve overcome challenges builds a sense of accomplishment and helps you trust your abilities.

It’s also helpful for challenging negative thoughts. When doubts arise, ask yourself, “Is this true?” or “What evidence supports this thought?” By questioning negativity, you can replace it with more helpful and realistic ideas, giving you clarity and confidence.

Keeping your inner voice positive, supportive, and kind can build lasting confidence and help you face challenges with self-assurance.

Thoughts for the week.

  1. How does your inner voice currently shape how you handle challenges?
  2. What specific moments in your life can you reflect on to reinforce your sense of accomplishment?
  3. How can you use your inner voice to prepare for future challenges with greater self-assurance?
  4. What common negative thoughts do you experience, and how can you reframe them?

Well, that’s it for this week. Have a wonderful weekend, and keep believing.

Warm regards

John
